Volunteer Duties
The Williamsburg Scottish Festival depends upon volunteers to make the Festival successful! Two hours volunteer work = Free Admissio to the Festival!! We have a myriad of tasks requiring your assistance! We can provide documentation for Boy/Girl Scouts seeking merit badge qualifications, for U.S. Military Service members pursuing the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal (MOVSM) or Service Member of the Quarter/Year Award, etc. Below, please find a sample of available jobs. Simply fill out and submit the on-line form, or print and mail it to our volunteer coordinator. We hope to see you there!!

Monday Sep 24
Field layout and marking
Set-up crowd control fence around field

Tuesday, Sep 25
Field set-up
Set-up crowd control fence around field
Other duties as assigned
Wednesday, Sep 26
Field set-up
Set-up crowd control fence around field
10X10 tent distribution and set-up
Post field signs & distribute rubbish bins, etc.
Other duties as assigned
Thursday, Sep 27
Field set-up
Set-up crowd control fence around field
Set-up generators, sound, and/or electrical systems
Other duties as assigned
Friday, Sep 28
Set-up crowd control fence around field
Final set-up of generators, sound and electrical systems
Distribute chairs & tables to designated field sites
Assist movement of clans, vendor, attendees gear
Other duties as assigned
Saturday, Sep 29
Distribute street signs (very early Saturday morning)
Conduct traffic control & parking operations throughout day
Distribute/redistribute chairs, tables to field sites, as necessary
Assist movement of clans, vendors, attendee geer
Serve as Gate Guard for Vehicle Entrance & Piping/Drumming gate throughout day
Conduct Field Security throughout day
Marshal the Parade Field for Welcoming Ceremonies & Parade of Clans
Referee Clan Challenge Competitions
Collect & dispose of trash at dumpsters throughout day
Tear down field: collect trash; take-down/gather fences & field stakes; collapse/package tents; collect/load chairs, tables, etc from Pub Tent (et al). Load trucks as required.
